Business and Training Center > Summer Quarter > Cisco Certified Network Associate
This course will help prepare you to pass your CCNA certification, providing you have taken Network+ at the BTC.
After completing Network+ you will have a strong understanding of many networking concepts. This gives us the ability to concentrate solely on routing. The course is very hands-on and you will learn by doing. Each day will include several labs with short lectures applicable to the labs you will be performing in class. You will learn: What routing is; what the different components of a router are; how to access the router interface; how and why to route data within either a small or large environment; how switching works; how to create VLANs; how to protect your network through the use of ACLs (Access Control Lists); how dynamic routing works; how to monitor and maintain your routers.
Prerequisites: Network+ or equivalent knowledge is required. Again, since our Network+ course is tailor made to fulfill all the requirements for Network+ and the first half of the CCNA program, if you have completed Network+ anywhere else, you will need instructor permission before you can enroll in this routing class. The same policy applies if you have prior equivalent knowledge. Textbook included. (40 hours)
