BUILD YOUR OWN PC

Interested in learning how to build or upgrade your own computer? This course covers various PC architectures, components, and safety issues, with several hands-on labs. An online lab will help you design a PC using brand-name equipment found on the web, learning about the wide array of vendors and possible compatibility issues. We’ll conclude by applying what you’ve learned to build a PC, partition and format its hard drive, and navigate the occasionally troublesome Windows XP installation process. Textbook included. (12 hours)

OPERATING SYSTEMS FUNDAMENTALS

This basic course covers DOS and Windows concepts; maneuver through the directory structure; make directories; copy and move files; become familiar with the common Windows icons and their functions. This course is highly recommended for any individual with very limited computer experience to prepare to enter the CompTIA A+ Certification courses. Textbook included. (12 hours)
